The private carrier RegioJet wants to buy wagons and locomotives for long-distance trains this year for about CZK 2 billion. He is currently successful in the tender for the purchase of 29 used cars from the German railway carrier Deutsche Bahn, which can travel at speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour. Before being put into operation on lines in the Czech Republic and other Central European countries, the interior will be modified, according to company spokesman Aleš Ondrůj in a statement.
The purchase of older cars should be gradually in decline. “In the future, we intend to focus even more on acquiring brand new cars for our trains. In the second half of this year, the fleet should expand another six Astra cars. took over at the beginning of this year, “said Ondrůj.
He added that for large investments, the company will use the money obtained from successful bond issues as well as loan financing secured by a guarantee from the Export Guarantee and Insurance Company (EGAP).
RegioJet trains will run to Poland, for example, this year. In the summer he will head to Croatia again. In the first ten days of ticket sales, the carrier sold 10,000 of them.
