There were 1,216 construction permits issued for residential buildings, totaling 604,825 sqm, on the Bulgarian market in the second quarter, according to data published by the National Statistics Institute. These projects will add a total of 4,438 dwellings across the country.
Authorities also granted 37 construction permits for administrative buildings/offices, totaling 22,798 sqm, and 1,145 other buildings, totaling 504,845 sqm. Compared to Q1 2016, construction permits for residential buildings increased by 22.5 percent. By comparison, construction permits for administrative buildings dropped by 14 percent. Permits of other buildings increased by 37.6 percent.
