Residential building construction starts at Harbor Point in Baltimore

6 April 2016

Construction on the first residential building in Harbor Point, 1405 Point, has begun by Beatty Development Group and its partners, Armada Hoffler Properties and The Henson Development Company. The LEED Silver building will rise 17 stories above Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and will include 18,000 square feet of ground-level retail space as well as 289 apartment units. Amenities in the building include a fitness center, pool, entertainment and media lounge, covered parking, and a newly landscaped park. 1405 Point is slated for completion in late 2017.

Located between Harbor East and historic Fells Point, Harbor Point will be Baltimore’s largest downtown, waterfront development composed of 3 million square feet of mixed-use space. To be built on 27 acres of land, it will feature 9.5 acres of waterfront parks and a promenade along the water’s edge. The first building, Thames Street Wharf, was completed in 2010 and occupied by Morgan Stanley and Johns Hopkins Medicine International.

“1405 Point will be a full service, residential building that will complement Harbor Point and attract people to the city who are seeking the vibrancy that comes with urban living,” said Jody Clark, Chief Operating Officer at Beatty Development Group. “By creating a unique environment for living, working and playing, we are changing people’s definition of city living.”
