A total of 160 buildings with 853 apartments totaling roughly 100,000 sqm of living space received construction approval for construction in the second quarter of 2016 in the following period in Plovdiv, the second largest city in Bulgaria. The data was released by Romania’s Territorial Statistical Board. The figure represents an 8.8 percent increase compared to Q1 2016 and is 12 percent higher than in Q2 2015.
It marks the second year of growth in Plovdiv, but compared to last year, when the focus was on the construction of new office buildings, the trend in 2016 has been towards the residential sector.
