Residential landmark part of Šantovka scheme in Olomouc

14 December 2012

SMC Development plans to add a residential landmark building to the new Šantovka neighborhood it is developing in Olomouc’s former Milo industrial area. The 22-story apartment highrise, designed by London-based Benoy architects, will be 75 meters high. “The design of the landmark is elegant and subtle at the same time,” said Luděk Schmidt, head of SMC Development.
“The building has east-west exposure and does not overshadow the historical city center.” The Šantovka neighborhood stretches across 11 ha of land. A shopping mall scheme is currently underway in the area, with an opening scheduled for next year. The highrise will follow, with office buildings and a residential area to be added later.
