Contractors in Lee County pulled more than $25 million worth of permits in March to build apartments as raising rents and occupancies motivated developers. Contractors pulled permits to build 183 multifamily units in March compared to 91 units in March of 2014. Meanwhile, contractors pulled $13.9 million worth of commercial permits in March, compared with $1.4 million in March 2014. The residential side stayed almost the same year on year with 93 permits pulled for March 2015 compared to 90 permits in the same month one year ago.
