Residential sales for 2015 jump nearly 50% in Bratislava

12 January 2016

Residential sales soared to 150 percent in 2015 compared to 2014, with 3,840 newly built flats sold. Last year marked the fifth consecutive annual increase in sales, as supply and average prices rose, according to statistics reported by Bencont Investments. Eighty percent of the flats were sold off-plan, before construction started.

The Slnečnice and Fuxova projects in Bratislava Petržalka were responsible for a majority of the sales in Bratislava in the last quarter of the year. Meanwhile, the Petržalka district saw 31.5 percent of all Bratislava sales in 2015, while the Old Town district had just 11.5 percent market share. Two-roomed flats were the most popular, making up 45 percent of all sales. Bencont’s research found that 3-room units are increasingly in demand, unlike 1-room flats where sales are falling. The average price per sqm reached €2,274 in December, a 10 percent increase y-o-y.
