The Vltava river is under-utilized for trade and transport and will therefore be opened to private development. That’s the opinion of the riverways authorities, whose decision would make possible the construction of private marinas and beaches, along with areas suitable for water skiing. The same process is currently underway along the Elbe river, according to the daily Hospodarske noviny, where European Union funds are being used to help the development of dozens of new ports and recreation zones.
