Law firm Dentons has strengthened its Madrid office with the recruitment of partner Roberto Tojo Thomas de Carranza as Head of the Real Estate practice in Spain. He joined on February 1, 2022. In addition, his team of four lawyers â including senior associate Francisco JimĂ©nez AlarcĂłn, and associates JosĂ© RamĂłn PĂ©rez Alvarez-Robles, Gumersindo Clemente Tijeras and Francisco de Bonilla DĂaz, will join in the coming weeks.
Roberto Tojo has 20 yearsâ experience in advising real estate developers, investors and funds on complex real estate transactions. These include acquisitions and divestments, sale and leaseback transactions, leases, and construction agreements. He is also active in real estate and infrastructure finance. He is recommended as a leading lawyer for real estate in Spain by international legal directories such as Chambers Europe and The Legal 500.
Before joining Dentons, he was a partner and Head of the Real Estate department at Ramon y Cajal Abogados and prior to that, he was a lawyer at Clifford Chance.
In addition to his legal practice, he also lectures on real estate and planning law at several universities including the Instituto de Empresa (IE) or ISDE, and before that in the Centro de Estudios Garrigues and Universidad AutĂłnoma de Madrid.
