Rockaway and CEFC are buying AIDU, one of the largest German online travel agencies and an air-ticket portal Fluege.de. The group already owns Czech agency Invia.cz. The deal will open access to 140 million new clients from Germany and other European countries buying trips. The annual turnover of the two companies runs to €924m. The price of the transaction was not disclosed. Portals such as Reisen.de, Billigfluege.de, Reisegeier.de, TravelViva, Urlaubstours or Hotelreservierung.de are included in the transaction, with closing planned in early 2017. Rockaway acted as CEFC’s financial investor on the deal. CEFC’s executive VP Marcela Hrdá told the press that the company’s goal is to take advantage of the rising number of Chinese tourists that are now heading to Europe.
