The dynamic growth of the e-commerce sector in Poland accelerates the development of warehouse logistics in smaller regions. Recognizing the potential of the Lubuskie Voivodeship, Rohlig Suus Logistics, one of the largest logistics operators in Central Europe, has launched a new warehouse in Zielona Góra at ul. Nowy Kisielin – Nowa 3. This investment is primarily aimed at increasing the operational potential of the national distribution network.

The COVID-19 pandemic has radically changed the shopping habits of Poles. We started buying most of the products online overnight. According to the forecasts carried out by PwC, in 2026 the gross value of the Polish e-commerce market will be PLN 162 billion, which means an average annual increase of 12%. The biggest increase in online sales is in the food, health and beauty categories. The potential of the e-commerce sector is also noticed by the Polish logistics operator, Rohlig Suus Logistics, which is intensively developing the operational capabilities of the domestic distribution network, opening new branches in prospective locations. One of them is the Lubuskie Voivodeship, where in the years 2001-2019 the value of GDP growth per capita amounted to an annual average of 3-4%, which placed this region in the second best group of EU regions. The development of the voivodeship is also favored by the proximity of the western border of the country, the interest of foreign investors and an extensive economic zone.

“According to the report “E-commerce in Poland”, as much as 77 percent. of internet users at least once in 2021 made a purchase, which means an increase compared to 2020 by 4 pp. Also in Rohlig Suus Logistics we observe a greater interest in online shopping, for example in the area of ”home deliveries” we grew by 16%. y / y Such a dynamic development of e-commerce in recent years has meant that in order to meet the market demand and the current customer requirements, we thicken our distribution network by opening new terminals. We believe that the surge in e-commerce in Poland obliges logistics operators to be closer to the final recipient,” says Adam Galek, member of the management board of Rohlig Suus Logistics. “The new branch in Zielona Góra will not only improve the services we provide, but will also allow for even more cost-effective execution of orders. Our own branch increases our operational capabilities five times and is an important element in the company’s development strategy in the region. First of all, we will focus on servicing local businesses and domestic general cargo,” says Katarzyna Rusin, director of the Poznań branch at Rohlig Suus Logistics.

Zielona Góra is an important city from the point of view of national and international logistics, incl. due to its excellent connection with the European motorway system (A2, A18 roads).
