Rohlig SUUS Logistics strengthens Its position in the Czech market

2 November 2023

Rohlig SUUS Logistics, a logistics operator in Central and Eastern Europe, is strengthening its prominent position in the Czech market with a new investment. In response to the increasing demand for comprehensive logistics services in the Czech market, the company is expanding its warehouse space in Brno to 12,500 square metres, which marks approximately 50% increase. Rohlig SUUS Logistics also places a strong emphasis on road, sea, and air freight services in the region.

The new investment, located at GLP Park Brno Holubice, is a modern logistics warehouse with a cross-dock terminal covering an area of 4,200 sqm. This facility marks the second Rohlig SUUS Logistics presence at this location. The first one was opened in the fourth quarter of 2022 and represented the inaugural foreign warehouse for the Polish logistics operator. This new facility is another significant part of the development in the Czech market. In June, the company fully acquired Joppa Logistics, which specializes in warehousing services and groupage road transport. Thanks to this investment, Rohlig SUUS Logistics has doubled its market share in the Czech Republic. Currently, the logistics operator employs over 150 employees in the country.

Artur Malarski, Board Member at Rohlig SUUS Logistics responsible for the development of CEE, says, “Our strategy is to become a major player in Central Eastern Europe. The development of our services in the Czech market is a natural progression in our roadmap. The Czech Republic is an especially important region for us – first foreign branch in CEE, first foreign warehouse, and fist foreign acquisition. We put a great emphasis on developing road freight services here through collaboration with other Rohlig SUUS Logistics branches in the CEE region, in addition to global freight services in partnership with the Röhlig network.”

Jiri Chladek, Managing Director of Rohlig SUUS Logistics for the Czech and Slovak Republic, adds: “The Czech Republic´s position as an important logistics centre is growing steadily. The country is also Poland’s second key partner in terms of exports and goods turnover. The Brno branch has significantly increased our operational capabilities and allowed us to expand our range of services, which will have a significant impact on the future development of our network of international and domestic groupage transport and contract logistics in the region.”
