Romania’s economy grew by 5.2 percent in the first quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter. Compared to the same period last year the advance was 6.5 percent.
In the euro area, Gross Domestic Product increased by 0.3 percent in the first quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter.
At the beginning of this month, the National Commission for Strategy and Forecast (CNSP) revised down by 1.4 percentage points, to 2.9 percent, the growth estimate of the Romanian economy for this year, from 4.3 percent as previously forecast.
The draft budget for 2022 was set at an economic growth of 4.6 percent.
