The number of job vacancies increased by more than 16 percent in the second quarter of 2022 compared to the same period last year, from 39,504 in Q2 of 2021 to 45,976 in Q2 of 2022, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics .
“Our economy has yet to recover post-pandemic, but the pace is noticeably slowing, against the background of the new crises we are facing. Apparently, about 25 percent of these vacant jobs are with the state, which, in fact, partially masks the tensions faced by the private sector,” says Raluca Pârvu, business manager of BPI Romania, a management and human resources consulting company .
“Many manufacturing workers have reoriented themselves in the pandemic to other industries and are not returning to factories now,” she added.
