The Romanian government has submitted a bid to bring the European Medicines Agency (EMA) to Bucharest after Brexit negotiations are completed. The EU drug regulator is currently headquartered in London. The Romanian government is suggesting the EMA can set up its new hub at the Globalworth Campus in northern Bucharest. The project will offer 88,000 sqm in three buildings, the first of which has already been completed. The other two buildings are set for completion in the second half of 2018. EMA would be housed in a 27,000 sqm building, which can accommodate 720 employees. There are 11 other European cities vying to host the EMA. A final decision is expected to be made in November.
