The volume of transactions with commercial properties decreased by 43 percent in the first half of this year, to EUR 183 million, marking the lowest level in the last 8 years.
“The first half of the year was marked by a slowdown in the volume of investments in Romania, as we have also seen among other countries in Central and Eastern Europe. However, we are seeing a considerable volume of transactions in advanced stages of negotiation and there are indications for an acceleration in the second half of the year. In this context, we believe that Romania can exceed the level of EUR 600 million in transactions this year,” said Mihai Patrulescu, Head of Investment Properties at CBRE Romania.
The two largest real estate transactions in the first half of this year total approximately EUR 85 million. It is about the transaction through which FM Logistic sold its distribution centers in Bucharest, Timișoara and Dâmbovița to real estate developer CTP, with the aim of renting them out. And the second is the one through which the professional poker player Mikalai Vaskaboinikau entered the Romanian real estate market by purchasing the office building One Herăstrău Office, in the north of Bucharest, at a price of EUR 21 million.
