The Romanian construction sector made up just 4 percent of the country’s GDP in the first half of 2015, down from 10 to 11 percent a few years ago, according to data released by the INS. The sector reported growth at 0.2 to 0.3 percent in H1 2015, with private investors driving the slight increase. The country’s construction sector generates on average between €8-9bn annually, according to the statistics.
