The Romanian Ministry of Economy and Finance issued more than RON 1m in fines and suspended operations at 26 restaurants, after inspecting 487 eateries across the country this month, according to Mediafax. The inspections by the Financial Guard took place between October 9 and October 21 and included fast food chains and pizzerias.
The ministry’s control agency found bookkeeping and fiscal irregularities and caught many companies not using the mandatory fiscal cash registers. Inspectors also seized goods worth RON 270,433, according to the general commissary of the Financial Guard, Felicia Pop.
