Romanian property transactions fell by 20% in January

The year 2023 began with a 20 percent decrease in the number of transactions with individual units, according to the data of the National Agency for Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising.

8,116 apartments were traded across the country in the first month of this year. Compared to the same month last year, when more than 10,000 apartments were traded, the decrease is 20 percent.

A slight decrease is also observed for Bucharest, where last year a new record of sold apartments was registered. In Ilfov county, the decrease is greater. Compared to January 2022, 290 apartments were sold in the first month of this year, 26 percent less.
