Romanian rents continue to rise

The total supply of apartments available for rent is increasing and rents continue to rise, according to an Imobiliare.ro analysis.

Most apartments available for rent have 2 bedrooms. By comparison, 3-bedroom apartments account for 24 percent of the total supply available on the market in the capital, while even more spacious apartments with 4 or more bedrooms are the rarest.

From the second quarter of last year to the end of the second quarter of 2023, i.e. in just 12 months, the level of demand for properties available for rent in Bucharest has increased by 35 percent. This concerns both apartments and houses, regardless of the age of the properties.

By comparison, in Cluj-Napoca the demand for rental properties increased by a spectacular 98 percent, while in other large cities in the country such as Timisoara, Brasov or Iasi, the increases ranged from 19 percent to 48 percent.
