In the first ten months of the year, 34,629 building permits were issued for residential buildings, down 3.6% from the same period last year, according to the Institute of National Statistics. Decreases were registered in the following development regions: South-East, Bucharest-Ilfov, South-West Oltenia, Center, West and North-East.
There have been increases in the North-West and South-Muntenia development regions, according to INS data. October 2020 shows a decrease in the number of building permits issued for residential buildings compared to the previous month. Rural areas accounted for 67.4% of the building permits in October.
