Romanian ROBOR index drops to 1.85%

6 January 2021

The three-month ROBOR index, the most used benchmark for loans, fell again to 1.85% on Wednesday, from 1.91% on Tuesday and 2.01% on Monday. This decline is surprising given that nothing significant has happened in the economy, inflation has not fallen sharply, and the National Bank of romania (BNR) has not yet made public its intentions on monetary and foreign exchange policy this year. In comparison, at the beginning of 2020, the 3-month ROBOR Index was 3.19% per year.
