Romanian TeraSteel starts production in South Serbia

17 October 2017

TeraSteel, Romania’s largest PVC producer, has opened a new factory in Leskovac, Serbia. The investment by this member of Terplast Group marks the first Romanian factory opened abroad since 1990. The unit will be producing sandwich panels for use in the construction industry with a staff of 80 local people. The opening follows the company’s €4.3m acquisition of a share in the Interlemind plant that had been closed for four years after an unsuccessful privatization. The new factory is expected to export to Bulgaria, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia, Croatia, Romania, Hungary and Greece. TeraSteel invested a total of €11m in the Leskovac plant and is considering the installment of a second production line for mineral wood panels.
