Skanska USA has announced the hiring of Ronald J. Murtha, Jr. as a Project Executive for its South Florida operations. Murtha will take on staffing responsibilities, overseeing client relations, cost and scheduling, as well as supporting Skanska’s business development efforts in South Florida. Prior to joining Skanska, Murtha served as Program Director for the new south runway at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Murtha is a registered Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA, both from the University of Pittsburgh.
“As a 30-year veteran in the construction industry, Ron has the experience to help Skanska carry out its current projects and help further grow its footprint in Florida,” said Fred Hames, general manager and executive vice president of Skanska USA Building. “With the state’s major international airports investing in expansions and upgrades, Ron’s unique expertise in aviation will add value to both Skanska’s teams and clients.”
