RSJ to invest CZK 4bn into real estate

1 April 2015

RSJ plans to invest CZK 4bn into commercial real estate through its newly launched fund, RSJ Investment. The group’s biggest shareholders, Karel Janeček, Václav Dejčmar, Tomáš Janeček and Libor Winkler, will invest CZK 1bn of their own equity, while the rest will be financed through a bank loan. RSJ has been active on the Czech real estate market in the past but previously invested in small and medium-sized development projects.

Lukáš Musil, the director of RSJ Private Equity, told the server e15 that the group needed to diversify its investment portfolio because bonds offer low yields. He also said that the group will invest in income-producing office and retail properties and hotels in good locations, with prices starting at €10m. The fund is expected to have an annual yield of 8 percent.
