The city of Moscow has seized 137 pieces of real estate in the Solnechnogors district as part of a clamp down on the Sabidom Group. The move comes in connection with alleged fraud in the construction of two housing estates in the district. Construction of the White City residential complex by Sabidom Group began in 2012. A total of 562 town houses were planned, and 500 of them were sold for more than RUB 3bn. However, construction terminated in October 2015. Another project by Sabidom Group called German Village saw construction take place on agricultural land (allegedly) without the needed permissions. President Vladimir Putin promised to get to the bottom of the emerging scandals during his recent ‘direct line’ interview.
