With the BlueGate Aachen, five buildings are being built in the immediate vicinity of the main train station. The mixed-use property comprises a total of around 24,600 square meters of above-ground rental space. In addition to office use, a building for 160 Holiday Inn Express hotel rooms is planned. 300 student apartments from the BaseCamp Group will be set up in the two buildings in the middle of the ensemble.
Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb NRW has now signed a lease for 7,500 square meters of office and seminar space. The user will initially be RWTH Aachen University. The BlueGate Aachen office complex is now fully let. It consists of two buildings connected by a glass staircase with seven and five floors above a common ground floor.
In the BaseCamp Aachen, students from Germany and all over the world can expect the same amenities as in their other BaseCamps in Germany and Europe: fully furnished rooms with fast WiFi and a private bathroom, a fitness area, a cinema, a 24/7 emergency call service, a bicycle parking garage as well as regular cultural, leisure and networking events. The students find everything they need for their daily needs under one roof at a centrally located location, so they can concentrate fully on their studies. The opening of BaseCamp Aachen is planned for October 2022.
The BlueGate Aachen is being developed in a joint venture between the BaseCamp Group and HARFID Holding GmbH, which is also responsible for the structural implementation of the overall project with its operating company HARFID GmbH.
