Ryanair’s plans to build a European hub in Bratislava has been delayed, Pravda.sk reports, claiming that the decision about whether to open a hub in the Slovak capital will depend on when the new airplanes will arrive.
However, Ryanair has since denied this. “Launching a Ryanair base at Bratislava has nothing to do with the aircraft delivery dates, but rather aircraft capacity,” the company said in a statement. “The first of our 180 new aircraft arrive in September. A base is dependent on agreeing a viable low cost deal at Bratislava airport and demand from customers and other airports.”
Ryanair’s new flight schedule includes 10 routes to and from the city, including to new destinations like Barcelona.
