Miami-based Jaxi Builders has announced plans to start selling the first condo development in downtown Fort Myers since the recession. The new project, The Allure towers, will be located at 2601 First Street on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River. The new development will feature two towers with 292 condominium units with prices starting at around $300,000. The developer will construct a sales center at the City Pier at 1300 Hendry Street, that will include a full-scale condominium model to allow customers to walk through the planned kitchen, living room and dining rooms. Construction of the towers is set to begin in 2017. Jaxi is getting a $15 million tax increment financing incentive for the first of the two buildings from the city, which hopes to spark interest in building more high rise residential projects.
