Samsonite Hungaria has completed a HUF 778m investment, thanks partly to HUF 194m in support from the New Széchenyi Plan. The investment will result in a significant expansion of capacity. In 2009 the Samsonite group began a HUF 3bn investment program in Hungary, after an increase in customer demand for Samsonite luggage. Last year, this involved a factory expansion along with the modernization of several offices. Samsonite currently employs around 360 workers, with which it produced 650,000 suitcases in 2011. Revenues for the year topped HUF 11bn.
