Ocean Properties Hotels Resorts & Affiliates has filed site plans with Sarasota’s Development Review Committee for the redevelopment of its Sandcastle Hotel on Lido Key Beach property. The company is looking to raze the existing 64 year old hotel and replace it with towers topping off at nine and 10 floors respectively. The company, which bought the former Helmsley hotel in February 2014 for $27.4 million, has penciled in a completion date of 2019 for the redevelopment. The new project, located at 1540 Benjamin Franklin Drive, is being designed by Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates Inc.
