Istvan Tarlos, mayor of Budapest, appointed Sándor Finta as the city’s new chief architect. Born in 1973, Sándor Finta is the son of one of the most famous architects of the socialist era and is known today for being the founder and president of the Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre. He is also well-known for being a member of Sporaarchitects company, which is an architecture company, consisting of young architects, designers and thinkers. Sporaarchitects constructed some of the new subway stations and city parks. The post includes not just architectural questions, but issues of city planning development, layout and heritage protection.
