Saudi politicians coming to Budapest

4 May 2012

Five Saudi Arabian ministers come to have talks in Hungary during the coming weeks. The Orbán government is hoping to attract investment and financial support from the rich country, which is currently Hungary’s second most significant Middle Eastern trading partner after the UAE. Hungary would be an appropriate ally for the Saudis as well, claim government representatives, in order to strengthen their European economic and political positions. The Saudi ministers of Agrariculture, Energy, Finance, Education and the Secretary of State will be visiting Hungary in the following weeks, talking about agricultural reforms, having more Saudi students study in Hungary, about real estate investments and tourism.
