Schmack Biogas is teaming up with Balkanika Energy to develop a biogas plant in the village of Velkovtski, near Gabrovo in central Bulgaria. Construction is set to break ground this month, with Balkanika Energy overseeing project management. Schmack Biogas designed the plant. Both companies are part of the Viessmann Group.
The plant will be able to supply the renewable electricity to around 1,150 three-person-households annually.
