The use of cryptocurrencies is unregulated at the moment, but this could change under a new initiative. Serbia’s government and regulators will be working with certain professional associations to produce a document that’s intended to serve as the basis of legislation that would establish rules for the use of blockchain technology as employed in the trading of digital currencies like bitcoin.
Secretary of the Association for Electronic Communications and Information Society in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce- PKS Marjan Stojanovic says that the working group will deal with the adoption of a platform for the development of crypto-regulations with the involvement of the National Bank of Serbia, the Ministry of Finance and the Belgrade Stock Exchange.
