Serbia prepares new 60 km motorway investment

26 February 2020

Project documentation for a 60 kilometer stretch of highway from Pozega to Kotroman in Serbia should be completed this year. The timeplan for the project calls for work to get underway in 2021, according to the CIP Traffic Institute. The new stretch of motorway will include four primary junctions at Pozega, Zlakusa, Kremni and at Kotroman. It’s not known yet the exact cost of the investment, but the terrain is considered difficult for construction, requiring the construction of a large number of tunnels and bridges. Government officials insist that the cost is worth it as it will open up the region to new investment and say they have agreed on terms for financing with Turkey.
