23 April 2018

In an effort to improve the country’s competitive edge, the Serbian government is planning to invest €65m into IT infrastructure projects by 2021. Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic recently opened a new innovation laboratory at the Science Technology Park in Belgrade. The lab, set up with support from the Swiss government, features 3D printers and computers for virtual 3D modeling. Sixty companies, employing about 500 engineers, are based out of the park, with the goal of developing new ideas. Brnabic said a science technology park is set to open in Novi Sad, while a new facility is nearing completion next to the university in Nis. Business incubators are also planned for Zajecar, Cacak and Bor in the near future.
