Serbian NIS to open gas stations in Romania

The Serbian oil and gas producer NIS, which is controlled by the Russian Gazprom Neft, will open 120 gas stations in Romania by the end of 2014, as part of €1.5bn expansion plan in the Balkans region, reports Bloomberg.

According to Kirill Kravchenko, CEO of NIS, the company already wants to open 40 gas stations in Romania and Bulgaria by the end of of 2012. He says the company plans to double its investments starting 2016 and will refocus on securing new sources of oil and gas, planning to increase the production of oil and gas by 2020.
