The police evacuated ten buildings across the Czech Republic where the media company Seznam.cz has its premises over an anonymous bomb threat yesterday, the company’s spokeswoman, Aneta Kapucianova, told journalists.
In all, over 3,000 employees had to leave their workplaces, Kapucianova said.
The detectives are searching for the person that sent the threat.
“The police are evacuating ten buildings across the Czech Republic where the media company Seznam.cz is seated. The reason is an anonymous warning that an explosive device was planted in one of them,” the police tweeted at about 13:30.
Kapucianova has confirmed that the branches of the firm were evacuated.
“The reason was information on an explosive device being planted in our offices that the Czech police received. All the employees who worked in the offices at the moment were evacuated safely,” she added.
“The police subsequently made a search in the building and then they enabled the return to the offices at the Prague headquarters and at the branches in Brno and Ostrava,” Kapucianova said.
At around 19:00, the police announced the searches inside all the buildings were finished and all the evacuees could return to their workplaces.
Owned by its founder Ivo Lukacovic, Seznam.cz is a Czech top company in the sphere of general browsing services, online advertising and presentation of the media content.
It also controls the Seznam Zpravy news web and Televize Seznam television channel.
