The new luxury hotel Sheraton Cascais Resort has opened in the Cascais section of Lisbon. This followed its acquisition in October 2015, when United Investments Portugal (UIP) paid €50m for the old Vivamarinha Hotel Suites, with 146 rooms. Through the agreement, the hotel joined Starwood Hotels Resorts Worldwide, which has been investing in Portugal for over 45 years. “Let’s put Cascais on the global map,” said the president of Starwood EMEA, Michael Wale.
