Siemens, Deutsche Bank expanding back office operations in Poland

Two more German businesses could be about to expand their operations on the Polish market, the daily Puls Biznesu reports. The plan is said to involve R&D and financial services centers by Siemens and Deutsche Bank. The newspaper suggests that having established itself in Poland, Siemens could be in the process of launching its research and development center. While it refuses to comment on the report, Siemens is said to be targeting Warsaw, or Kraków for its innovation center. “I can’t confirm our plans at this stage, but we’re always increasing our efforts to locate these type of projects in Poland,” said Kinga Jabłonowska-Hieronimczuk, head of PR at Siemens.

At the same time, Deutsche Services Polska (Deutsche Bank’s Polish subsidiary) says that the company’s business in Warsaw has proved so successful in recent years that the company’s top management has pushed forward plans to expand its operations in Poland. “Originally, the plan was to establish a small-sized unit in Warsaw, comprising 50 employees, but the team expanded to 120 specialists with ambitions to expand further,” said Anna Jankowska, head of Warsaw’s Deutsche Services Polska division, which already supports the bank’s Europe’s real estate portfolio and suppliers risk management.
