Sing family home permits rise 9% in Lee County

Single family home building permits for the month of May in Lee County have increased 9 percent over the same month from last year according to the Lee County Community Development Department. Builders pulled permits for 98 single-family homes for the month of May as the residential housing market continues to strengthen in Lee County. The new home permits come even as the market for existing single-family homes has declined. Multifamily permits (apartments and condos) stayed almost the same with builders pulling 26 permits compared to 28 in May 2015. Commercial construction slowed considerably with contractors pulling $2.1 million worth of commercial permits in May compared with $15.3 million in May 2015.
