Skanska acquires land from CTR Group

8 November 2017

Skanska has acquired land just north of Prague in Libčice and most likely plans to start construction of a new residential area. The deal for the 11 ha plot was completed last week with its former owner, CTR Group, which had planned to build low-rise apartments and small family houses on the land. The construction permit for this project expired, however, meaning that Skanska has a free hand in designing its own scheme for the land.

The small town of Libčice with approximately 3,000 residents will most likely undergo a general change for the better as future plans for the town extend beyond new apartments and houses. Libčice residents should be expecting new parks and recreational areas as well. The shore of the Vltava River has fluvial terraces in Libčice. CTR Group, however, believes that the area purchased by Skanska is out of the reach of possible floods. A railroad station within walking distance with trains departing to the center of Prague is expected to be a big selling point.
