Skanska kicked off its first large-scale office scheme in the city of Kraków. Called High Five, the five-building office scheme is going up near the city’s main railway station. The first two buildings (D and E), which are being constructed in the first phase of the project, will offer 28,000 sqm of lettable space, along with 175 parking places. They’re due for completion by the fourth quarter of 2017. Skanska’s construction arm is overseeing the construction, while the developer’s leasing team will handle the leasing. Moon Studio provided the design.
The developer says the total leasable area of the completed project will be the equivalent of ten soccer fields and it expects more than 7,000 people to work in the complex eventually.
“Our aim was to re-shape this underused area of the city,” Arkadiusz Rudzki, Managing Director at Skanska Property Poland. “We want to achieve this goal by developing exceptional architecture which will seamlessly fit in with the character of Krakow.”
“The High Five complex will become an architectural gateway leading to the heart of Krakow,” said Piotr Nawara, President at Moon Studio adds. “The urban development will comprise an open and welcoming space decorated with passer-by-friendly squares and passages. A roofed passage will be developed along the square frontage of Pawia Street and it will include restaurants, cafes and places to relax…With its aesthetics and openness towards residents, High Five will fill out this part of the city and will encourage Krakow’s residents to return here.”
