Skanska Residential Development Czech Republic (RDCZ) and Skanska Residential Development Poland (RDPL) have merged to create Skanska Residential Development Europe (RDE). Mikael Matts, the president of the Czech branch, has been appointed to lead the newly established entity. Claes Larsson, executive vice president of Skanska’s residential development branches, said that while Skanska has been active in the Czech residential sector for many years, it has not fully established itself in Poland yet. Skanska launched sales for its first residential project in Warsaw two years ago, and has additional projects in the planning stages. Skanska management believes merging it with the more experienced Czech branch will boost the company’s residential business in Poland. The former president of the Polish branch, Michal Melaniuk, left the company.
