Skanska is set to build a 14.4 km section of the D1 motorway in eastern Slovakia near Košice. The order is worth CZK 5.3bn and is scheduled for completion in December 2019. Work should commence in November. Skanska has already signed a contract with the Slovak national motorway manager NDS. Construction of the motorway section between Budimir and Bidovce will be financed by state and EU funds. The project includes 23 bridges, the longest of which will span 542 meters across the Torysa River.
