Škoda Auto buys CZK 146m plot of land from Mladá Boleslav

23 March 2018

The city of Mladá Boleslav has sold a piece of land on Václav Klement road to Škoda Auto for CZK 146m following an agreement under which the automobile giant will invest hundreds of millions into the development of the city. Final approval of the deal came on Thursday, according to the city’s spokeswoman Šárka Charousková. Škoda Auto plans to build a clinic on the land to replace a publicly used clinic currently located within the company’s production complex. Four other companies bid for the land offering more money for it than Škoda, but the city would have lost out on hundreds of millions in additional investment the tender’s winner promised. Rezidence Jičínská offered CZK 168m for the land along with tens of flats for the city, an offer worth CZK 202m in all.
