Car manufacturer Škoda expects to sell more than a million cars and set a new record this year. In August, it achieved the best result in its 119-year history. The manufacturer sold 73,200 cars worldwide. Škoda also posted historically high sales in the first eight months of 2014, making management believe that it could top 1 million car sales for 2014. In August, sales were up 14.3 percent y-o-y. In Western Europe volumes rose by 14.5 percent, while in China they increased by 19.1 percent y-o-y. In the Czech Republic, 5,900 people bought Škoda cars, up by one third y-o-y.
