Slavia football club and stadium in Prague are on the market. Former Transport Minister Aleš Řebíček decided to offload Slavia, but negotiations with the Kazakh billionaire Talgat Bajtazijev have come to a deadlock. The head of Batumi Industrial Holding has offered CZK 1.4bn for an 80 percent share in the football club and the stadium. But the weak ruble and the club’s unclear ownership structure have brought negotiations to an end. Hospodářské noviny hints that Řebíček might want to sell the stadium to the Czech billionaire Jiří Šimáně, owner of Travel Service, who loaned the club money and could take control of the club in lieu of repayment.
