The chairman of Slovakia’s parliament has called for the country’s industrial base to be redirected into the production of protective masks and disinfectants. In a Sunday news program, Boris Kollar also argued that businesses should be offered government support but demanded that any such programs be properly managed so that they helped as many people as possible rather than making just a few rich. Prime minister Igor Matovič said he believed companies in the industrial sector would be willing to help in the production of disinfectants and masks but they would need clear directions on what to do. He also warned that Slovak’s might be banned from going outside without wearing masks.
